Once in a while you have to take a break and visit yourself.

Lose some weight. Run a marathon. Quit smoking. Quit drinking. Change the world. Earn more money. Work less. Work more. Read a book. Travel more. Travel less. Teach. Save more money. Start that project…

Did you make any new year’s resolutions for this year? If you did, do you remember them? Did you put them in writing? Are you on your way to achieve them? Are you done with them?

I don’t mean to put any more pressure in your busy life, but the year is almost over. In fact, today is day #300 out of 366 (this is a leap year), which means there are only 66 more days, and 2012 will be history. If you made some resolutions and you are on your way to achieve them, congratulations! If you didn’t, or if you don’t remember them, there’s still some time, actually a lot of time, a little more that two months, and a lot can be achieved in two months, at least many things can be started in this much time. But this time, don’t make the same mistakes, don’t take it too lightly, take it to heart. Set some time aside for yourself, find a quite place, sit down with a pen and paper, and write down what you want to accomplish. Don’t try to spread too thin, choose only one thing, something that can be finished in two months. If you want to loose some weight commit to starting a diet, if you are goiong to exercise start by walking, if you want to read start with only one book. You can’t make up for the time you lost, but you can always start something new.

Success has many components, but two are of most importance: Planning and Discipline. So, commit to be better, for your own good, and apply yourself to seeing your goal through.

I’ve collected some quotes about discipline, here they are for you. Good luck on your new project!!

  • Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day. -Jim Rohn
  • Without self-discipline, success is impossible, period. -Lou Holtz
  • By constant self-discipline and self-control you can develop greatness of character. -Grenville Kleiser
