What we say is important for in most cases the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Choose your words to elevate others and yourself.

A bad attitude is like a flat tire, you can’t go anywhere until you change it.

Do not wait for the last judgment. It takes place every day, and you are the judge.

Did you give all you could give?

be what you could be IMG_2534

To want to be what you know you could be. Al least, to start.

How does that look for this New Year’s Resolution. Only this one, no more.

Comment if you’ll at least try.

Sorry I’m a little late, I just got back.

Feliz Año 2013. May you have the strength to make all your dreams come true.

calendario maya

The Mayans made a calendar some hundreds of years ago, one that ends on December 21, 2012. For many years people have dedicated a great amount of time trying to figure out just what they meant by this. Some say that the Mayans predicted the world would end on this day, and even have imagined visions of tragic natural catastrophes and alien invasions. Others say that the Mayans did not predict the end of the world, they simply couldn’t fit more days in their circular calendar. Some others think they meant it as a joke, imagining how we would obsess about it (and they were kind of right). I guess we will soon find out.

As for me, I really hope the world ends today, nothing would make me happier. I mean, after thousands of years of human existence and we are still killing each other over dirt and stones and oil. Nations go to war in the name of the same God that has different names. There’s never been a time when there is so much difference between rich and poor, and we keep trying to destroy the balance of nature as if our lives did not depended on it. I mean, how long can we keep on going like this, how long should we.

Now, the really exciting thing for me is thinking about the new world we can start on December 22. If the old world is dead, then we can be free to imagine exactly how we want the new one to be. It could be one where we are all equal, regardless of your race or how much money you have, one where the poor could have some dignity and the rich don’t have to lose theirs in order to get richer, one where everyone eats every day, one where we are actually grateful for our differences, one where we respect women and children and nature, one where we understand we leave this world with nothing but our experiences, one where we realize we are meant to be happy and that we can only be happy by giving love.

Yes. I hope the world ends today, and if it doesn’t, then we should definitely end it. And then we can start over tomorrow, but this time let’s make it right, the way it should have been from the beginning. We can do it if we all do our part, don’t underestimate the effect we can achieve with small acts of kindness. Our seemingly little efforts will add up.

In the meantime, tonight I’m having an End of the World Party.

Happy New World!!
